Spesifikasi

Intel Core 2 Duo Desktop procesor memiliki 5 model dari E6300 dan E6400 dengan L2 2MB, E6600 dan E6700 dengan L2 4MB dan X6800 dengan L2 4MB sebagai procesor paling cepat dikelas Core 2 Duo.

Seri Core 2 Duo mengunakan Internal FSB dengan 1066Mhz dan external FSB 266Mhz. Core 2 Duo berisikan 2 Core didalam 1 procesor tetapi berbeda dengan seri Pentium D dimana saling berbagi antar Core dengan L2 cache yang menyatu.

Intel menyebutkan Intel® Advanced Smart Cache untuk L2 yang saling berbagi tersebut. Dengan Intel® Advanced Smart Cache maka kecepatan procesor akan lebih efisien dengan penyatuan L2 bagi masing masing core.

Dari ke 4 procesor yang umum digunakan, E6300 adalah kelas paling murah. Sedangkan E6600 adalah procesor dengan 4 MB dikelas atau dengan harga menegah.

Pemakaian konsumsi power seri E6xxx, hanya memerlukan maksimum 65W kecuali tipe X6800 dengan pemakaian power sekitar 85W. Intel mengatakan seri E memiliki fitur sebagai procesor hemat energi dengan performa tinggi.

Pengaturan power dapat diaktifkan via BIOS dengan C1E. E6300 dengan kecepatan multiplier 7X nantinya dapat menurunkan kecepatan dengan multiplier 6X. Sedangkan E6600 dengan multiplier 9X dapat diturunkan ke multiplier lebih kecil.
